Digital Recording Equipment Coming to a Hearing Office Near You

November 1, 2004

Over on Connect, JOA posts the following excerpt from an internal SSA memorandum regarding digital recording equipment:

SSA has decided to proceed with replacing OHA four track tape recorders with digital recording equipment. OHA has an aggressive roll out schedule for the remainder of 2004. This includes installations in the remaining pilot offices: Philadelphia, Macon, and the Bronx, as well as the HOs in Mississippi and North Carolina. The Atlanta North and Madison Wisconsin HOs will be retrofitted with the latest digital recording software. Further delay would seriously impede electronic folder integration efforts. After these are completed, full scale roll out will begin in January 2005 and will proceed until all digital recording units are installed. Each HO install will include all hearing rooms and permanent remotes sites. Travel units will also be provided for the temporary remote sites.

Now, how do we get a copy of the recording?
